ARKKÜLTÜR'ün hikayesi bulunduğu evden, çevresinden, mimarisinden, yani mekandan bağımsız düşünülemez. Cihangir semtinin ruhu ile özdeş, 1940'lı yıllarda inşa edilmiş, iki katlı ve bahçesinde havuzu olan konak, ARKKÜLTÜR'e ev sahipliği yapıyor. Mimar Gülfem Köseoğlu tarafından, 2008 yılında yapı dönüştürülürken, korumacı bir yaklaşımla, yeniden ele alındı. Yapının çevresine aitliği korunurken, evrensel referanslar içeren bazı dokunuşlar yapıldı. Böylece ortaya çıkan “ev”, içinde barındırdığı etkinliklere yalnızca nötr bir beyaz kutu olarak davranmak yerine, onları şekillendiren, etkileşime giren, güçlü bir bağlamsal zemin olma iddiasındadır. Herhangi bir mekanda sergilenebilecek işler yerine, buraya ait olan, veya en azından ait olmaya çalışan yaklaşımları arar. 

ARKKÜLTÜR's story cannot be separated from the house it is located in, its surroundings, architecture, or space. Located in Cihangir, deeply intertwined with the spirit of the neighborhood, the mansion, built in the 1940s, with two floors and a pool in its garden, is home to ARKKÜLTÜR. When it was converted by architect Gülfem Köseoğlu in 2008, a conservationist approach was taken, rethinking it with a contemporary perspective. While preserving its belongingness to its surroundings, some touches were added that contain universal references. Thus, the resulting “home” claims to be a strong contextual ground that shapes and interacts with the events it hosts, rather than just being a neutral white box. It seeks approaches that belong to this place or at least aspire to belong, rather than works that could be exhibited in any space.
